ABOUT COLE
For me, general aviation training and testing do not come secondary. Although I do enjoy flying turbines and often draw from that background while de-briefing check rides, my mission has always been to support and promote general aviation. I enjoy being a stable long-term resource as many students struggle with the high turnover rate of flight instructors. One of my goals is to be certified in and be able to instruct in every category and class of aircraft.

WHAT IS A DPE?
As a Designated Pilot Examiner, I play a critical role in ensuring the FAA standards of safety and proficiency in aviation. I evaluate pilots like you to confirm their readiness for certification, conducting thorough assessments that reflect my commitment to maintaining excellence in the industry. This allows me to contribute to development of aviators.
Designee is the general term used to describe a representative of the FAA Administrator authorized by law and appointed in accordance with the applicable provisions of § 44702 or part 183, Representatives of the Administrator, to examine, test, and/or make inspections necessary to issue airman or aircraft certificates.
Designees have been an important part of the FAA’s support to the flying public for over 60 years. The designee function is vital to enhancing the FAA’s public service role and enhancing overall safety in the National Airspace System (NAS).
DPEs are able to help you with the pilot certification process by providing more appointment availability at more locations.
